Sweden Rock Festival is an annual rock festival held in Norje, Sweden, since June 6, 1992. Despite focusing especially on heavy metal and hard rock bands, the festival has shown genre versatility in recent years, including southern rock bands like Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd or death metal like Obituary.1 The first version of the festival in 1992 was held in Olofström, with only nine bands. The next five years, the festival moved to Karlshamn, but the location was changed in 1998. Since then it has been held in the city of Norje, just outside Sölvesborg. In the 1992 edition, the festival featured nine virtually unknown bands, and lasted only one day. The following year lasted two days and the groupings poster was expanded. In 1993 it was decided to invite bands with greater international recognition, which continues to this day, becoming one of the most traditional European rock festivals with Wacken Open Air in Germany and Hellfest in France.
